The Ultranet-line will pass Rheinau substation westwards and between Mannheim-Rheinau and Mannheim-Wallstadt it will be installed on the track of the former 220 kV-line Rheinau-Pfungstadt, which was a section of the "North-South-Powerline" Brauweiler-Bludenz.

Meanwhile the northern part of the old Nord-Süd-Leitung is being replaced with a 380 kV DC double circuit line. In some sections two 110 kV circuits of the parallel line are carried with on the same towers.

Northernmost part near Pfungstadt substation. Eight years ago (!), when I was already enthousiastic about my (compared to nowadays lesser) knowledge of high voltage technologies, I visited an event there in September 2016, when Amprion opened his gates to this station. At this time the 380 kV switchyard was partially inaugurated. Some employees there told me about this 380 kV project and that realization will still wait until in 8 or 10 years. Now it's the time to say goodbye to one of the the most iconic transmission towers the world has ever seen. The famous C1-Mast...

Precies, lijkt inderdaad nu een soort standardprofiel voor alle TSO's in Duitsland te zijn

Die 4-circuits 380 kV/110kV combi masten zijn allemaal geloof ik rond de 90 meter hoog, maar op de een of andere manier ogen ze, ook in het echt, niet zo groot.
