In the Netherlands are angle towers with row insulators with v-shape.
While in Germany are just exactly the other way around.

And both TenneT...

It is very odd to see that TenneT does it the other way around in Germany. I have seen this angular suspension tower on the latest satellite images on Google Earth when I drew this new connection on our gridmap. There are more angular suspension towers in this new line.

Angular suspension towers are more common in former East Germany.

Not a very nice tower to say it politely. They could have also use thicker post-rod insulators in V-shape. That would have resulted in a more similar design as the suspension tower, with less wide cross arms. To my opinion the bottom conductors have small separation too, especially given the line angle.

They didn't even used all the space available on the crossarms on the right side for some reason. Maybe this was used to be a anchor tower and later they decided to use it as angular tower.

It is not uncommon to not fully utilize cross arm width for insulators at the inside corner of the line angle. It would result in increased forces at the tower. And the wires would go more out from the center of the line, which lead to additional right-of-way.

Angular suspension towers are rare in Western Germany. However, two of them are part of the 110 kV-traction power line Zazenhausen-Eutingen.

With this picture, which shows the 110 kV-branch to Sindelfingen from the 380 kV/110 kV-line Pulverdingen-Oberjettingen during the Sylvester firework, I wish all memebers of the forum a happy year 2023!

Op 7 februari 2023 was het na maanden graftakkenweer ofwel netkaartweer eindelijk eens een zonnige dag en ben ik er weer op uit getrokken naar Duitsland om treinen te fotograferen. Omdat de zon op de beoogde fotostek toch nog niet goed stond ben ik eerst richting Wettringen gereden om te kijken naar de stand van zaken m.b.t. de bouw van de 380kV verbinding Dörpen - Wesel.

Als eerste passeerde ik bij Ohne de 380/220kV combinatielijn Gronau - Hanekenfähr. Aan de rijp op de voorgrond is goed te zien dat nog goed koud was die ochtend. De lijn is hier voorzien van obstructiebeschildering en markeringsbollen vanwege de nabijheid van luchtmachtbasis Bentlage. Een blik de andere kant op richting Pkt. Ohne waar de lijn de verbinding parallel komt te lopen met de verbinding uit Uentrop/Roxel. Dit punt zal de komende jaren flink veranderen. De nieuwe 380kV verbinding Dörpen - Wesel gaat hier de verbinding naar Gronau overkruisen met twee masten die hoger worden dan 90 meter en daarnaast is Amprion voornemens om tussen Gronau en Hanekenfähr op termijn de 380/220kV combinatielijn uit de jaren '60 te vervangen door een nieuwe viercircuits 380kV verbinding!
