Base of the pylon. In the building in the middle, there is an emergency power system for the air-traffic warning lights of the pylon. You can see well the tube housing the self-propelled elevator with the spiral stair-case around. The base of the pylon is CCTV monitored.

View across Elbe river to the Lower-Saxonian bank. One can see its counterpart on Lühesand island, which is from same construction as the previously shown pylon and the strainer at the end of the crossing section. It has a height of 76 metres and has three crossbars in a height of 37 metres, 49 metres and 61 metres. The lowest and the topmost criossbar have a length of 42 metres while the crossbar in the middle is 51 metres long.

As in Lower Saxony also in Schleswig-Holstein "Elbekreuzung 2" is terminated with a strainer, however it is with a height of 62 metres less tall.
It has three crossbars in a height of 23 metres, 35 metres and 47 metres. The length of its crossbars is 42 metres (lowest and upmost crossbar) and 51 metres (crossbar in the middle).

You can see on that picture, which was taken in 2002, that two conductors end there and that its crossbars have runways with railings.

Some hundred metres northwest of "Elbekreuzung 2" one can find the older "Elbekreuzung 1". It was built from 1959 to 1962 for the 220 kV-line from Stade to Hamburg-North and uses for its 1140 metres long span across Elbe river two 189 metres tall pylons with two crossbars in a height of 166 metres and 179 metres.
The corner posts of these pylons are diagonal to the course of the line, which resulted in less material requirements for the construction of these towers.
The pylon on the bank in Schleswig-Holstein, which is shown on the picture carries in a height of 30 metres a radar for vessel traffic surveillance on Elbe river.
Since the decomissioning of the 220 kV-line from Stade to Hamburg-North in 2018, "Elbekreuzung 1" is used by the German railway company for its double-circuit 110 kV-single-phase AC line to Schleswig-Holstein.

On both banks of Elbe river, "Elbekreuzung 1" ends on a 50 metres tall portal pylon with a single crossbar in a height of 33 metres. The following picture shows the portal pylon at which "Elbekreuzung 1" in Schleswig-Holstein ends.

Münnerstadt substation. It is used for feeding the power generated by nearby wind turbines in the 110 kV-line Eltingshausen-Brendlorenzen.
