High voltage stations NL

Bericht door Electro1 » 23 sep 2014 09:46

Hi, just a quick question.
Could anynone of you specialists help me in finding the amount of high voltage stations in the Netherlands?
In the KDC reports I can only find number for TenneT, Liander and Stedin
TenneT: Total 314
Liander: HS-stations 169; HS-schakelvelden 1.112; HS-transformatoren 470
Stedin: Transformatoren HS 417; Stationsvelden HS 2.126

My goal is to have an approximation of the installed base of high voltage stations in the Netherlands.
Would be great if one of you could help me out!
Regards,

Electro1

Hello Electro1,

At this moment, we de do not offer a complete list of stations ourself. At least not as a direct data file. Depending on what you need and for what kind of aim, there are however two other methods to obtain the raw number of stations.

The first one you already mentioned: manual count of the stations in the Tennet KCD-reports and the similar reports of Liander, Stedin, Enexis and Delta. (Delta, the fourth local grid operator, offers also stations in the KCD.)
This is a quite reliable way to obtain the amount of stations. Some of the reports are aged somewhat, and the three-digit-numbers written in Tennet KCD-11 are no longer valid. But just for obtaining the raw amount plus or minus a few loose or very new ones, it may work pretty well. However some private stations are not included in the reports due to safety- and commercial reasons. The reports offer the number of transformers and sometimes their capacity as well. For detailed information, this is indeed the best method.

Another option is to download the free Google Earth grid map. This map offers the station locations as well and in this map, most private stations are included as well. Depending on what you need (the stations, or individual switching fields) you can count the stations by their name (label) or by switching field polygons. Digging down the root folder, other folders with label 'Terreinmarkeringen' (terrain marking) can be found. Just counting the number of entities in this maps offers the direct, raw number of switching fields with a certain tension. This method saves you hundreds of pages of KCD-reports, but it is somewhat incomplete because some indoor stations do not show clear switching fields. A slight underestimation can sometimes be expected in especially the 50 kV-stations. This can be covered however by taking a look at the stations themselves: if the polygon only has one color but there are two colors of lines and cables connected, the tension linked to this other color is present as well.
Important: the map is built and maintained by volunteers and we do not guarantee it being 100% correct all the time. For more information about downloading the grid map, take a look here (screenshots) and here (information and download).

Final note: if you really need numbers on which can be relied all the time, the best thing you can do is contact Tennet directly. All national stations operating at 110 kV and up are owned by Tennet.
Halfverankering is net als Volbeat: het kan altijd
