Old and new towers of powerline Hoheneck-Herbertingen at Eninger Weide

In this context the future of the northern part of the powerline Hoheneck-Herbertingen between Hoheneck and Rommelsbach is from special interest.

I dont really like the angle tower design, it is to flat at the top, the earth wire is too close to phase wires, whereas normally it is just the other way around. I get the impression that they insisted on using the same overal geometry of the suspension tower for the angle tower, but since angle tower has no vertical insulators, it leads to shorter distances, which doesn't feel right.

On https://www.hoogspanningsforum.com/view ... =11&t=1575 , I mentioned that near Brühl a strainer pylon was until 2010 equipped with an observation deck. Now I got the chance to get in the area and I made some pictures of this tower. The only relicts of the former observation cabinet are the characteristic inverted "v" in the lattice structure of the body of the tower and a concrete plate under its legs, on which once the scaffold with the staircase, which led to the observation deck, stood.

The top of this tower, which carries the designation tower 93 of facility 4101 (German: Mast 93 der Anlage 4101).

Closer view on tower 93 of facility 4101. It is 74.84 metres tall and was built in 1975 for the double-circuit 380 kV-line from Oberzier to Sechtem. In 2002 two 110 kV single-phase AC circuits for the powerline Cologne-Sindorf of the German Railway Company were installed on the lowest crossbar.
